Almost two years ago now, I heard Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj and Flordemayo speak at the First United Methodist Church in Shadyside. It was a very poorly organized event and the Guatemalan Quiché elder didn’t have time to take many questions, but he did talk briefly about the “days of darkness” (which he planned to spend playing music and chilling with friends and family), and about the region. Recently, footage has surfaced of a talk he gave at Pitt, which is a bit more in-depth.
Have fun and cuídate.
