Scully: I can’t look into the darkness with you anymore, Mulder. I cannot stand what it does to you, or to me.
Mulder: I’m fine with it, Scully. I’m actually okay. I’m good.
I watched the second X-Files movie over Thanksgiving and dug it.
4/5 stars
I Want to Believe is like a particularly slick, longish non-ET episode; unlike Fight the Future, it doesn’t develop the main mythos of the show (the conspiracy here is a relatively cozy, small-scale one), but does develop the Mulder-Scully dynamic very nicely. Billy Connolly’s also awesome as a psychic pedophile priest helping out with the investigation. I was really into this show as a kid, but for some reason stopped watching it after season 5. In 2004 (I think) I revisited my favorite episode “Jose Chung’s From Outer Space” with some pals, and it held up quite well. Anyway, you don’t have to know jack about the show to follow I Want to Believe. Dean from Dreaming Ant says he thought season 8 was rad, so maybe I’ll check that out sometime.
Be good and cuídate.
